At Take Our Hand we know how hard it can be to lose someone you love. Whether it’s a parent, sibling, colleague, friend or partner we are here to help you navigate your way through grief.
Bereavement Care Packages
Our first line of support is to provide you with a bereavement care package. You might not feel up to talking to anyone yet and so by having one of our care packages you can work through your feelings by yourself or with those around you.
Each care package includes a memory jar, candle, journal and mindfulness activities as well as some nice treats.
You can register for a care package on the below link for yourself or someone you know.
“Thank you so much for supporting our young person with a bereavement box. We wanted to help her mark this important anniversary and the items in the box will help her to express her grief”
Therapies and Activities
We believe that no two people deal with grief in the same way and therefore the therapy or activities the young people may want to do will also be different. There are many organisations that make counselling available but for many people that isn’t what is needed.
We will therefore fund young people, their friends and family to undertake the therapy or activity of their choosing that they feel will help them with their grief. We have a range of therapy partners including, music, art, EMDR and horse therapy. We can also fund activities like singing, dance or sport.
We accept referrals for any young person aged 16-25 who lives in England. You can refer yourself or on someone’s behalf if you have their consent. To discuss support you can email us at email@example.com or call us on 07707126650.
Peer Support Groups
We are currently in the process of setting up a peer support group for those young people who live in Norfolk. This gives young people an opportunity to socialise with others who have been through something similar to them. It can be hard for those around those grieving to understand what they are going through. We hope these groups give young people the support they need. If you are interested in joining please get in touch.
